This summer, we had our “Fun in the Son” program for our 4^th year as a beacon of joy and spiritual growth for the individuals in our prison communities. It started on June 27^th with our 4^th annual trip to Titusville, Florida, where we had two teams of 12 volunteers each going into a combined six central and south Florida prisons!

Then, we rolled into July and had 12 Fun in the Son services for our North Florida and some of our West Florida services. We concluded our Fun in the Son schedule with 3 services at Jackson CI on August 2^nd.

Our theme for the Fun in the Son was, “Run for Your Life”. If you are not familiar with our special summer service, we like to call this our “Outside the Box” service😊 We do things differently during these services by bringing in food, playing games, having a “special” guest go around and entertain the guys, but there is ALWAYS a gospel message, and we share Jesus! He is the “SON” in our Fun in the Son service😉 Anyways, they are a lot of fun, and we have a great time fellowshipping with the guys and praising God together!

And this is what the Lord did during these services . . . We had 21 services and traveled 2,274 miles, had 1,778 men in attendance, witnessed 22 of them give their hearts and lives to Jesus for salvation, and 100 believers made a recommitment to running with God and for His purposes! We were also able to giveaway 122 Bibles in English and Spanish as part of our service. We were also privileged to baptize 7 men before our Fun in the Son service at Liberty CI! Praise God for the Holy Spirit changing hearts and lives!

We partnered with Inspiration Ministries from Butler, Indiana, during the first week of October to minister inside of 9 different Institutions for a total of 10 worship services in THREE days! We saw almost 600 men and women attend our services with over 140 responding during our altar calls and then seeing 18 of them give their hearts and lives to Jesus!

What a time we had serving the Lord and fellowshipping together! There were SO MANY GOD-FILLED moments that there truly isn’t enough room to share all that we saw God do during this week! But I will share this . . .

Before we even stepped into a chapel for a service INSIDE the prison, on the very first day God allowed us to minister to a woman about to get OUT of prison! As we were waiting on the compound for the chaplain to lead us to the chapel, there was a woman in a separate area waiting for her release and suddenly she started having anxiety and a panic attack! The chaplain called for some prayer warriors to come help and two of our lady volunteers jumped at the opportunity to pray with her. To see that spirit of fear that was seizing her so bad she was hyperventilating and then having our two women of God praying that spirit of fear out of her in Jesus’ name and the peace that came over her was amazing!

Then, to go and have such a wonderful service with the ladies there at Lowell CI after that experience was special. But then, we had the female guard that was there in the chapel with us ask to pray with us and for us after the service was over! Powerful prayer!

But wait . . . there’s more! We go to Wendy’s for lunch that day, and a female employee from the Pilot station just happens to sit down in the midst of our team. Our ladies lead her (Freya) to the Lord! RIGHT THERE AT WENDY’S! 

The afternoon service at Marion CI that day saw 180 men come out and boy, oh boy, what an electric time in the Lord! The men heard some powerful and impactful testimonies from the team and they flooded the front when it came time for altar call! What a powerful service!

2024 Fun in the Son

This summer, we had 19 Fun in the Son services throughout the state of Florida. For those services alone, we have traveled 2,268 miles, had 1,569 men in attendance, witnessed 220 respond to the invitation during altar call, 17 of them giving their hearts and lives to Jesus for salvation, and 79 believers making a recommitment to live in active expectancy that God is going to move and inspire someone else by living that life committed to God!
