Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.  - 1 Corinthians 9:14

Grandpa and Grandma with their prayer concerns...Jacob, Miranda, Madison (Top) Nathan and Christian

Prayer:  Though the vast majority of world’s peoples, secular and religious, use two words quite loosely, love and pray, we unfortunately do little in disciplining ourselves to their practice.  As Christians we are admonished to love “God with all our heart, soul, body and mind and your neighbor as yourselves” (MATTHEW 22: 37-39) and we are to be “anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” (PHILIPPIANS 4: 6)   Most of us do not look past the material, physical world into the spiritual realm will the real balance of power lies.  It is not what we see that effect our lives, or for that matter world events.  It is the unseen “powers and principalities of the air”  (EPHESIANS 6:12) that have dominion over the visible circumstances, events and things that make up our earthly lives.

We say all of this to point out that prayer is of the utmost importance in combating a cauldron of demonic and occult activity encountered in prison ministry.  Your prayers are needed to enforce Christ’s victory over Satan.  Your effective and fervent communication with the triune God of this universe is what will bring victory over the darkness encountered behind prison walls.

We covet your petitions and intercessions in the following areas…

  • Spiritual and physical protection

  • Victory in the warfare for the souls of men and women Prison

  • Godly wisdom and scriptural knowledge

  • spiritual discernment to combat heresy, cults and deception

  • Financial and logistical support

Donations:  There are many ways to support missionaries, such as in the above-mentioned prayers.  Other areas are moral encouragement, material goods, and financial donations.  Financial support is the most sensitive and misunderstood, thus the most talked about way of support.  In fact, when one mentions missionary support, most people automatically think of just sending money.  Most Christians don’t fully realize their role as senders.  Jesus admonishes the believer in Matthews’s gospel to… “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…” We, as Christians should approach giving to as onto the Lord”.  An investment that produces “heavenly rewards”.  In addition, giving supports areas of ministries that the giver cannot be directly involved.  Financial contributions are “shares” in Kingdom building and it permits one to reap heavenly dividends.  Stock markets go up and down, but the work of winning souls for the Kingdom is always adding “earned interest on your heavenly account”.

As you partner with us in prayer and financial support, you will join with us in prison ministry an integral member of the team.  Your participation helps us to minister in Christ’s name in places where few Christians feel comfortable ministering.  You allow us to represent you to the people who need it the most.  The regular financial support gives us the necessary income that frees us to minister on a full time basis.

We pray that we have adequately communicated our “calling” and that you might feel led to pray about supporting this advance into the prisons of North Florida for the purpose of evangelizing and discipling the incarcerated Hispanic.  We here at Harvest of Life depend upon God working through people just like you!  Please make a prayerful decision about join with us as regular prayer and financial partner in this noble and honorable opportunity to reach the Hispanic prisoner.

Everyone should make up his own mind as to how much he should give. Don’t force anyone to give more than he really wants to, for cheerful givers are the ones God prizes. -- 2 CORINTHIANS 9:7
